Jay Q has been a passionate music-lover ever since being brought up on a diet of Michael Jackson, Prince, James Brown & The Rolling Stones as a youngster. Since then he has spent most of his free time in clubs, concerts, music festivals & behind the decks accumulating over 35,000 tracks spanning electric genres, catering for both mainstream & distinct tastes.
Jay Q's DJ style is to totally enjoy himself behind the decks & play tunes the crowd want to hear... interacting & buzzing off them as he brings the energy to the room. He loves showing off his versatility, range & knowledge of music... spinning anthems, album cuts, forgotten classics & the odd surprise... adapting his set to warm up the crowd or create a party vibe. Jay Q is a natural entertainer, with a background in stand-up comedy (which lends itself well to mic duties).
Jay Q's musical passion is HipHop & RnB, although he is versatile & able to play any genre required to keep the dancefloor packed. He has played a wide variety of gigs to various audiences including - festivals, fashion shows, VIP rooms, corporate gigs, New Year's Eve, Prom Parties & bars/clubs in the West End & Shoreditch (including Scala). Currently, Jay Q holds down a residency at the Piranha Bar on Hayling Island & has also been booked for gigs in Australia, Malaysia & Majorca.
Jay Q presents his own radio show broadcasting across the globe on Radio King Online. His podcast (hosted on iTunes), receives over 6,000 downloads each week from all over the world, regularly charting in the Top 50.
