Biography
Zing are two accomplished musicians who have performed in stadiums, theatres and top venues worldwide. This likeable duo comprises of Gilly on saxophone and Carm on the keyboard. Both sing lead and backing vocals.
Zing’s style of music is varied from chilled acoustic sets, to the best pop, soul and motown party classics, and modern day chart hits. They also have Italian and Spanish songs in their repertoire.
Carmine
Vocals/Piano
Carmine began playing piano at 7 years old, taking classical lessons up to A level music, and then on to Leeds College of Music to study for a Jazz Degree.
In 2008 he became part of Suzi Quatro’s Band, and has toured all over the world, performing places such as Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Greenland and Europe, playing huge capacity stadiums and theatres sometimes accommodating up to 20,000 fans.
He can be found named on Sophie Ellis Bextor’s album ‘Shoot from the hip’, and he also played keyboard in the Thomas Jules band (that of Rudimental fame).
He also feels blessed to have supported Ed Sheeran before he went on to be a global superstar.
Gillian
Vocals/Saxophone
Gillian originally trained as a dancer and actress, her first professional paid appearance being at the Liverpool Empire alongside Cilla Black when she was just 11 years old.
She also sang as a child in Andrew Lloyd’s Webber’s choir. (Jesus Christ Superstar & Paddington).
She worked firstly in television and theatre, and then went on to cruise ships before going on to front bands worldwide.
Her favourite time was the 2 years she spent touring Japan as a musician working for Budweiser.
After this, she successfully signed to the Notting Hill publishing company under the moniker ‘Kumuchi’, writing and performing original dance music tracks.
A highlight of hers was when she met and danced with the singer/musician ‘Prince’ whilst on a dance contract in Milan Italy.
