Biography
Sami James is an acoustic indie/folk singer/songwriter from the south of Spain who writes about what is true in his heart: mainly about love, confusion, hope, escapism, universal truths and paradoxes.
His music can be compared to Nick Drake, Ben Howard, Noel Gallagher, Jeff Buckley, Roberto Iniesta to name a few... He also blends his own style with popular and old covers of Spanish and International artists.
Sami has played some big festivals over the last few years, twice appearing at 'The Space Mountain Festival' in Granada organized by 'Youth', the producer and from the band Killing Joke. He has also played twice at 'The Marbella Irish Festival', and many big concerts and venues in the UK in London, Brighton, Bath and Gibraltar, Argentina and also along the Costa del Sol, and the South of Spain.
He has worked with such artists/producers as Boy George (London), Martin Glover (London), Mikki Nilsen (Malaga), Bryan Wells (Malaga), Animal Farm Label (London) and True Tone Studios (Crawley).
As well as playing with many artists and being in several bands, Sami has always found more comfort in being a solo artist but always has time to bring up invited musicians to play with him on stage.
Most recently, Sami has been playing along the coast since his return from London, including venues such as Biddy Mulligans in La Cala, Waves in Tarifa, and The Sunborn in Gibraltar. He opens for the touring international and national rock bands every Friday at Louie Louie Rock Club in Estepona.
